Review of Eau Claire, Wisconsin

If You are different Do not go!
Star Rating - 10/9/2009
To get it out of the way, I can start by saying that I am black. I moved to Wisonsin to experience winter.

The place itself, is ok. It's just that there is no possible way to find a significant other. Not everyone is opened minded.

On top of that, Eau Claire is filled with bars and restaurants. If you plan on getting fat, never finding a significant other, and wasting your life, then Eau Claire is the place for you. But I can only speak for me and who I am. The percentage of me in this town is .052. Not good. Sorry if you are already here, but if not, please think twice before jumping in. Trust me, I've been stuck here for 6 yrs. I've been trying to leave since the first year.

I loved this...read it to my husband. I know it wasn't meant to be funny...I can't imagine how you feel. That's something that concerns me about moving west. We are definitely "different," and easily find a place for ourselves in the outskirts of NYC. We're looking for a liberal-minded town, which some bozo above said Eau Claire was...but this posting definitely discourages me. I hope you've since moved to a more accepting and comfortable area.

For someone like you, closed minded/ high expectations, you may want to travel a bit south of Eau Claire to find a "significant other". No, I'm not saying "go back to the south" just try Madison, Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, and even Green Bay. Eau Claire is not a "big city" with big city ideals. My biggest suggestion is, before moving to someplace...check it out. Don't knock the place that YOU moved to in hopes to find something that isn't there.
